IMPORTANT INFORMATION – PLEASE TAKE TIME TO READ Applicants who come from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) must hold a current Stamp 4 or a Labour Market Permissions Letter to undertake a Training Course with Cork College of FET - Bishopstown Campus. A good standard of both written and spoken English is essential in order to successfully complete this Course and the associated assessments Assessment Information: All assessments in relation to this Course will be carried out on site at the training location. This course is classroom based, and is a full-time day course, which runs Monday to Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m, and Friday mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 12:45pm for 8 weeks. All applicants must hold a current Full Rigid C Licence and a Provisional CE Licence before applying for this course. These can be obtained through the National Driver Licence Service at www.ndls.ie The following certification is available on the modules listed on this programme: - RTITB Forklift Counterbalance Certificate - RTITB Forklift Reach Certificate - ADR Training - ADR - Hazard Chemical Training Certificate - Certificate of Professional Competence - HGV Artic and HGV Rigid - RTITB Pedestrian Pallet Truck Low Level - RTITB Electric Pallet Stacker Truck As part of this course learners will also receive Chemical Hazard Training and undertake Certificate of Professional Competence with the Road Safety Authority. The aim of the RTITB Reach and Counterbalance Lift Truck (often referred to as a forklift) operator training course(s) is to enable learners to operate both types of forklift trucks safely and efficiently, carry out a pre-use inspection of equipment and explain the causes of truck and load instability. Employability Statement: On successful completion of the course and the related HGV driving tests, learners will be well positioned to apply for Heavy Goods Vehicle driver positions. Also, on successful completion of the RTITB certificate in Forklift Counterbalance and Forklift Reach applicants will be certified and able to source employment as a forklift operator in the workplace.
